Martin Swan was born in 1951 in the Isle of Wight. On leaving university Martin concentrated on becoming a professional artist. Having originally established a strong reputation as a landscape painter he is increasingly recognised as a marine artist. He has a particular interst in the Solent between the wars and the great yachts that sailed there during that time. Martin has exhibited extensively inthe island, along the South Coast and in London, in 1987 he was featured in the BBC2 Arts Programme "Painters". This Autumn Martin will be exhibiting in Auckland, New Zealand to coincide with the America's Cup.
