Robert Lloyd was born in 1968. His interest in the sea started at an early age when living near Liverpool he used to stand on the banks of the River Mersey and watch ships coming and going. After leaving school, initially with the intention of going to sea, he opted to study art and design.
During his spare time Robert would paint for pleasure whenever possible and gradually his reputation spread. Eventually there was so much interest that the decided to paint full time. Now, at a relatively young age, he has already made a name for himself as arguably one of Europe's most sought after marine artists whose work has been described within the shipping world as 'the most technically accurate and visually stunning of recent times.'
Robert has held one man exhibitions in the UK and his work can be found in the offices of the world's leading ship-owners, ship-builders, agents and managers from Europe, North and South America, the Pacific Rim and Asia as well as private collectors and museums world-wide. His work is heavily featured in both specialist marine and general interest publications throughout the world.
