Ian was born in 1959 in Melton Mowbray. He has lived in Venezuala, Australia and USA. He is passionate about wildlife and his work reflects his deep understanding of his subjects. He has spent much of his life travelling the world observing flora and fauna.
In 1996 he was voted into the prestigious Society of Animal Artists of America, he has exhibited in the Pacific Rim Wildlife Art Show in Washington State. His work has toured the USA including the Witte Museum, Texas, The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pennsylvania and The Delaware Museum of Natural History. He has also shown work in the Ropyal Society of Marine Artists and the Society of Wildlife Artists.
His work has been featured on UK national television, and can be found in collections all over the world.
He has twice been the recipient of the honour the Soceity of Animal Artist of America can bestow, the 'Award for Excellence'. He has also been awarded Highly Commended at the annual National Wildlife Art Exhibition in the UK.
The August 2001 issue of Wildlife Art Magazine in the USA, has Ian's painting 'Queen Conch and the Butterfly Fish' as the front cover. He is also featured on the cover of US Art as one of "25 Artists you should know".
