Alexander Slatter is a Yorkshire Dles born painter who now lives and works in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
After gaining an honours degree in illustration & design from the University of Plymouth he worked as a commercial illustrator for 10 years; travelling widely to China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Scandinavia and the USA.
Alexander paints beachscapes and seascapes in oil, with this collection featuring places which are calm and often silent. Each painting is created in a combination of Ôen plein airÕ and studio.
His style is contemporary but draws on the tradition of English landscape painting with detailed yet highly textural application of paint. Alexander exhibits widely, and his work can be found in collections in the UK, USA and Australia.
ÒAlexander paints seascapes in oils, beautifully atmospheric scenes that have you yearning for the seaÓ. Metro Life (December 2003).
