Jacqueline Real's pictures are extracts, transformations of an original experience which in a condensed, decisive and intense way make form and colour become vehicles of meaning. This is how Jacqueline expresses her own artistic concern: "To enjoy life, to experience spiritual energy, to sink into the subconscious, into a new reality - and to feel a higher level of consciousness, to move from the concrete to the abstract. It is my aim to create a positive feeling of life".
What motivates Jacqueline Real's art today is her experience of nature in Cornwall with its rugged coastline. Brought up in Zurich she experiences nature as a mysterious other. Her abstract motifs are generated not only by the intense experience of the original and beautiful Cornish landscapes but also by the unfathomable depths of the sea and the dazzling effects of light found in Sussex and Ascona (Ticino), the places where she lives.
